Transfering footage to PC?

Hello, my "Production Company"(a.k.a. a group of friends with a camcorder, big ideas and even bigger dreams) and i have decided to try and add production value to our films by doing some basic CGI.

Being avid computer geeks [img]biggrin.gif[/img] , we've sorted how we're gona do them, and how to transver them to video, but i was wondering if anyone has thourght up ways to transfer Hi8/vhs to computer without having to spend loads on computer upgrades.

Any help would be much appreciated.

You could buy a DV bridge like The Formac studio pro,and plug in a regular VCR into your Mac.

Any video card with an s-vhs input. ATI All in wonder pro cards are fine. Check out for an older model, no DV input, going cheap. Or try e-Bay for someone who has upgraded to a DV card.

I find the AIW-Pro 128 fine for S-VHS video.

ahh ebay, is there nothing you cant get there? the amount of lenses that go for less than ten quid! [img]biggrin.gif[/img]
